Grey Power World Cup of Curling/Three Nations Cup

On this past Saturday night, me and my mom went to see draw 12 at 7:00 pm at the Hershey Center in Mississauga. On the way there, we got sort of lost because I confused Dixon Rd. with Dixie Rd. Not the best navigation skills of me, but we managed to get there on time though. We unknowingly went through the media entrance, and the guy let us through to go get tickets. Fortunately, it was past the boundary where we didn't need tickets anymore. We sat down in section 6, right next to the sheet Bingyu Wang and her Chinese teammates where playing Eve Muirhead. I felt really uneasy, so my mom got one ticket for me. We sat down and watched that game and the other three games: Gushue vs Koe, Lawton vs Keibrink, Howard vs Ulsrud. Some of the action above. Even better: during the middle of the draw, my mom pulled me out to buy some gifts and a new brush! That was really awesome. I wanted to get one for a long time.
Soon as the Wang game was over, my mom and I "hurried hard" over to the other side of the arena to talk to the coaches of team Wang. They told us to go back, and they were going to go up to concourse level to personally meet the entire team! I was very excited.
Bingyu Wang was very nice and polite. I asked her random questions, and got to take pictures with everyone. It was unbelievably amazing to meet the reigning world champions. They had to leave, but not before getting cards of the coaches. A dream come true: contact with the national Chinese curling team!
Of course, me and the national chinese coach started talking about mundane things like where the chinese were practicing, how the ice was, and a bunch of other things. Gushue was my next goal. They had just lost their game, but I wanted to get a photo

So Summer

You know, I would love to be linked by the Curling News, that would be an honour.
Anyway, so far in summer, I have been still eagerly awaiting the new season and the next HUGE event-the Olympics. I really want the Vancouver Olympic Curling venue to have blue 12-foot and red 4-foot lines, just like in Torin0. I was very impressed by the indoors of the curling nevue, because the predominant colour blue took control and gave the entire arena a different feel from just being at the Worlds. It felt, so, high-tech! I hope that the venue in Vancouver will be 10x better, because the ring colours right now are green and blue. (Ugh!!!)
Can't wait.

World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships

I haven't posted for quite a while.
There's nothing to say until October-ish, but in the meanwhile, let's talk about the Mixed Doubles Championships.
I'm a fan of Mixed Doubles. I love it. I've tried it once though, and it wasn't that fun because my inside-out draws aren't very good. But man! Hungary? I mean, where did that country come from. All the while, this just shows that Curling is becoming more multi-national by the year. I was really hoping that China would actually get another medal, this time in Mixed Doubles, but they got beaten by Canada. Well, I can't really say much there. Then again, Canada only made a stunning comeback after China was in the lead in the first few ends by quite a few!!
Ta-ta for now!!

My First Post!

About me
I'm still in school, but I really, really love curling. Probably too much for my own good. The surprising fact is, if you look at my title, that I'm actually Chinese. Nope, not even mixed. Pure Chinese. I was even born in China, and then came to Canada at a young age.
But enough about me. I love curling. It's strategy, and it's concept, it's all very interests me.
Some of my favorite teams are Brad Gushue, Bingyu Wang, and Kevin Martin. I have been watching and looking at curling for at least 7 years. Yet, I only just started actually curling this year.
Some thoughts about the past season:

  • WOOT! Go Team CHINA!!!! (Although the men's didn't do as well, they still made it to the Olympics.
  • Darn-I thought that Bradley might actually make a direct trial berth in November.
  • DARRRRNNN!!!!!!! I just started this blog, and the curling season is over. Oh well.
So until next time.
BTW-check out my delivery above on youtube. It's okay, I just can't push out very hard.
